The Design Process
During your initial contact with Samantha Kilty Design we will discuss the likely scope of your project and which services you may be interested in. Following this, we will ask you to complete one of our pre-consultation questionnaires. This will form the basis of discussion at your Initial Consultation. Once we have received your completed questionnaire, we will call to arrange a date for us to meet.
Initial Consultation
An important part of the design process is for us to meet you in your home/premises to see your chosen space. The consultation will enable us to discuss your requirements and budget and give you an opportunity to present us with your ideas and ask any questions.
At this stage we may, with your permission, take photographs of the space we have discussed.
The consultation generally lasts about 45 minutes
Fee: Free of charge (within a 25 mile radius, a small pre-arranged fee, to cover travel, will be charged above this distance)
The following services are available from Samantha Kilty Design. At your request we can tailor a package that is specific to your requirements.
Design/Mood Board
Following your initial consultation you may wish us to provide you with a visual illustration of the colours and themes we have discussed. We will make an appointment to come back and present this to you.
You may decide that your board(s) has provided you with enough ideas to continue with the work yourself, in which case the design board is £70 (per room) and yours to keep.
Upon presentation of the board, should any minor changes be necessary these can be made free of charge. Each additional new board will be £70.
Scheme Report
Once you are happy with your design board we can prepare a scheme report for you , this report will include:
This report will provide full guidance as well as recommendations for room layouts and style. You may decide at this stage that the report, together with your design board is enough for you to continue with the work yourself.
The fee for the report will be £250 for one room and £150 for each additional room.
A 50% deposit for the board(s) and report is payable upon engagement with the remainder payable upon receipt. At your request a further 1 hour meeting can take place to talk you through the report and provide you with the opportunity to ask any further questions. There is no charge for this. Subsequent hours are charged at £35 per hour.
Sourcing
Samantha Kilty Design can source and purchase (as your buying agent) on your behalf, all fabrics, furniture, furnishings and accessories that are specified for the project. As we are an independent consultancy with no retail ties, we source from various companies, suppliers, manufacturers and retailers and we can usually secure at least a 10% saving on the normal RRP on the items we specify.
We can arrange for all items to be delivered directly to your home in line with the project timescales.
Samantha Kilty Design is pleased to recommend some contractors such as general builders, painters & decorators, electricians and curtain makers, all of whom are fully qualified and accredited by their respective trade/profession.
Samantha Kilty Design will act as a mediator between the trade people and the client. Clients will enter into individual contracts with the relevant trade people. All invoices relating to work carried out by trade people will be sent directly to the client.
Fee: £35 per hour
Implementation
If you have appointed Samantha Kilty Design to complete the works for you, you move onto the implementation stage of the project.
Fee: £35 per hour payable on a monthly basis
Other services
Property Presentation:
Remember, most buyers decide whether to put in an offer within the first 30 seconds of viewing so first impressions really count! Investing in a home stager really does make a difference.
At Samantha Kilty Design we can offer a full ‘home staging’ service. After just one meeting, lasting around 45 minutes, we can provide you with a report detailing recommendations of how you can turn your property around to achieve that all important profitable sale.
Fee: £70 payable on engagement.
If you decide you would like to proceed with our home staging service and would like us to coordinate the work for you, we can do this.
Co-ordination would include:
Fee: £150 to £250 per room (price dependant on the scale of the project) payable on engagement.
